After a thirty-seven year career in the electricity generation industry I retired and returned to university and commenced a PhD. My topic was a history of the Electricity Commission of New South Wales. Once I graduated in October 2015, I started volunteering in Newcastle University's Cultural Collections division. Projects that I have been involved with include geo-tagging the late 19th and early 20th century images of Newcastle taken by Ralph Snowball, and research into the images taken by T J Rodoni when he was member of the AN&MEF sent to New Guinea in September 1914. Since late 2015 I have been part of a small project team aiming to digitise the weather journals of Algernon Henry Belfield.
