Kerstin is a senior lecturer in the School of Law and Justice at the University of Southern Queensland, where she teaches criminal law and procedure. She has a PhD and LLM from the University of Queensland. In her PhD research, Kerstin focused on the role of victims in criminal procedure in Germany and Australia. She has published widely in Australian and international journals on issues relating to human rights law as well as German and Australian criminal law. Prior to commencing work as a lecturer, Kerstin practiced law as an Associate at the Berlin office of Baker & McKenzie, Germany. Kerstin has guest-lectured in constitutional history at the University of Reggio Calabria in Italy (2006) and is a visiting lecturer in the foreign law program at the University of Bonn, Germany.
