Recent Research interests:

A cross-disciplinary research project with Usha Iyer-Raniger, School of Property, Construction and Project Management has focused on a major opportunity to explore and experiment with digital technologies to enable circularity in the building industry. A significant part of this project is directed at using technology to mitigate non-conformity in the building industry. Partnering with industry and research institutions, this project has significant impact potential for the building and construction industry.

His research interests include: design thinking and consumer engagement, focusing on developing commitment and loyalty. Kevin has collaborated with colleagues in a range of research projects, including commercial opportunities for artisanal production in food and non-food products, which contributed within the process of gaining major grant funding. Recently, he co-won the GSBL Research Impact award for an exploration of how alcohol brands employ social media to blend sport and alcohol brand cultures, to leverage their sport sponsorship narrative.

Teaching:

Kevin is course co-ordinator and lecturer for Design Thinking in the MBA Program at our city campus and online. He is also the course co-ordinator for Marketing in the Executive MBA Program, including online and Vietnam. Kevin has received numerous teaching awards and is committed to collaborating with students to integrate practically apply their learning, using live industry projects to develop skills and capabilities personally and professionally for their career advancement. Kevin has added to the strength of industry engagement in the EMBA and MBA programs, forming partnerships with the NGV, and a range of industry, consultancy, entrepreneurship and non-for-profit organisations.

Kevin has a PhD and Masters of Marketing and a Masters of Management from Monash University. His undergraduate studies were in Business (Accounting, Swinburne University). He has presented his research at a number of conferences and been chair and guest speaker at a number of industry conferences. A core strength is industry engagement, across government and diverse industry sectors including entrepreneurship, product innovation and start-up businesses.
