Dr Kirsten Davies holds a Master’s Degree (USyd) and PhD (USyd) in Sustainable Management and is undertaking a second PhD in Environmental Law (MQU) and Coupled Human and Nature Systems. She was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to conduct research in USA, UK and Japan (2002) and was the recipient of the University of Sydney Agri-Management Scholarship for post graduate research (2005). Kirsten was awarded an Australian Government, Australia Award - Research Fellowship to undertake sustainability research in Vanuatu (2009). She was appointed as an expert adviser to the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) in 2014.
