Kirsty Duncanson

Senior Lecturer in Crime, Justice and Legal Studies, La Trobe University

While maintaining a central focus on the intersections of law, crime and the social world, my work is strongly interdisciplinary. I draw on theory and methods from across cultural legal studies, socio-legal studies, criminology, political science, gender studies, visual culture, cinema and media studies. My key areas of interest include identifying the influences on jury decision-making in rape trials; popular engagements with the philosophy of law as they pervade visual culture; and structural discrimination in higher education.
