Dr Koa Whittingham is a clinical and developmental psychologist and a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Queensland.
Koa's research program spans three key interests:
(1) parenting, the parent-child relationship,and supporting the transition to parenthood
(2) neurodevelopmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and acquired brain injury
(3) acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and related 'new wave' psychological therapies including mindfulness and compassion
She has over 40 publications in the peer-reviewed scientific literature, five book chapters, numerous articles in the popular press on early parenting, and a book (“Becoming Mum”) that supports women through the psychological passage to motherhood.
