Kristian Coomaraswamy

Kris Coomar is a Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant based at Birmingham Dental Hospital and School, with clinical affiliations to Birmingham Children’s Hospital; prior to his current posting, he had worked in general practice, community dental service and hospital dentistry around South Wales.

Kris is an enthusiastic educator in Paediatric Dentistry, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate learners. He instructs for both the DF1 and Dental Therapy vocational training schemes in the West Midlands, along with providing postgraduate talks/courses locally.

Kris’ primary area of research is in dental materials (mineral trioxide aggregate), though he has published/reviewed more broadly on areas of Paediatric Dentistry and alcohol-related violence. Kris also advises within his specialty to the British Dental Association and commercial companies.
