Kristin Kobes Du Mez

Professor of History, Calvin University

Kristin Du Mez's research areas include gender, religion, and politics in American history. She is the author of Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation (Liveright, 2020), and A New Gospel for Women: Katharine Bushnell and the Challenge of Christian Feminism (Oxford, 2015). Her current project is Live Laugh Love, a cultural history of white Christian womanhood.

She has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, Daily Beast, Christianity Today, and Religion & Politics, and has been interviewed by NPR, PBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, PBS, and numerous national and international outlets.
