PhD Candidate, University of Adelaide

I am a PhD candidate interested in the ecological restoration of marine ecosystems. The large scale recovery of South Australia's lost oyster reefs provides the foundation for my research, with my PhD focusing on how a multi-species approach to ecosystem restoration can improve the outcomes of restorative efforts and produce self-sustaining systems that are biologically complex and highly functional.

Oysters, canopy-forming kelp, and seagrasses fall under the arc of this multi-species restoration work, where I'm investigating the potential benefits of species interactions, and techniques to enhance and scale-up restorative methods. The potential blue carbon benefits associated with the co-restoration of oyster reefs and seagrasses is also a key area of my research.
