I have a deep interest in business models, innovation and, in particular the ways in which each of these impact people facing strategy (i.e. customers, employees, community). My research is in innovation and people strategy, and I lecture in strategy, marketing and innovation. I also consult to industry in these areas - particularly in highly regulated and complex markets (finance, pharma and medical devices, telcos, education) and actively participate in mentoring and fostering start-ups in these and other industries. My twelve years of consulting builds on my pre-academic career in finance, where I held product development, marketing, communication and senior strategy roles.
In addition to my academic duties, I am also the founding CEO of Place Lab - a hub of research, teaching and practice. Designed to create better places to work, live and learn, Place Lab uses approaches common in entrepreneurship and innovation. Place Lab is a JV between Macquarie University and Generation Alliance.
