Larry Brand is a professor in the Department of Marine Biology and Ecology at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. His research interests include phytoplankton ecology, including harmful algal blooms; the production of algal biomass for aquaculture, energy and pharmaceuticals; and the interaction of ecological and evolutionary processes.
