Lasantha Meegahapola

Associate Professor, RMIT University

Dr Meegahapola is currently employed as an Associate Professor with the Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, School of Engineering, RMIT University, Australia. He has over 15 years of research experience in power system dynamics and stability with renewable power generation and has published over 170 journal and conference articles and has supervised/ co-supervised 15 PhD students to completion to date. He has also conducted research studies on microgrid dynamics & stability, synchrophasor-based stability assessment, and coordinated reactive power dispatch during steady-state and dynamic/transient conditions. He was a visiting researcher at the Electricity Research Centre, University College Dublin, Ireland (2009/2010). From 2011-2014 he was employed as a Lecturer at the University of Wollongong (UOW) and continues as an Honorary Senior Fellow. He is currently employed as an Associate Professor at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) and the IEEE Industry Applications Society. Dr Meegahapola is also serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Power Engineering Letters, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and IET Renewable Power Generation journals.
