Associate Professor of Philosophy of Education, University of Birmingham

Dr Laura D’Olimpio is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Education at the University of Birmingham. She recently published a public philosophy book entitled 'Short Cuts: Philosophy' (Icon Books, 2023). Laura’s first book, 'Media and Moral Education: a philosophy of critical engagement' (London, Routledge, 2018) won the 2018 Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia’s annual book prize. Her new book, 'On the Necessity of Aesthetic Education: the place of the arts on the curriculum' will be published this year with Bloomsbury. She edits the open access 'Journal of Philosophy in Schools' and is a regular contributor to The Conversation and ABC Radio National’s 'Philosopher’s Zone' and 'The Minefield'.
