Dr Lauren Gurrieri is a marketing academic whose research focuses on the socio-cultural aspects of consumption and issues at the nexus of marketing and society.

Her research interests include gender and marketing, body ideals and social media, consumer activism and resistance, consumer welfare and ethical representations in advertising.

She is the creator of the Stocky Bodies, a non-stigmatising image library ( of the lived experience of fat. The site is a free resource available to the media, educators, health professionals, activists and the general public.
