I guess I’m best known as a writer, though if you recognise the face it’s either because you saw re-runs of A Touch Of Frost – or you rented out High Heels and Low Lifes. I started out as an actor and I still get in front of the camera on occasion. Mostly however I write and direct film, TV or internet productions – I am best known for my screenwriting work on such TV shows as Deception, The Bill, EastEnders, London’s Burning, Ultimate Force, Casualty and Holby City. I am also the director of the award winning feature film Sanctuary.
I also lecture on screenwriting and media production at Northumbria University and am currently working on my PhD – The Representation of Intellectual Disability in scripted Film and Television Outputs. I work with disabled actors and also have an interest in British New Wave Cinema, and Irish Cinema.
