Leonard Jones Chauka

Dr. Leonard Jones Chauka is a molecular ecologist. His research interest focuses on survival of coral reefs ecosystem in the context of climate change. He is specifically interested in addressing the question to whether coral reefs along the Tanzanian coast will adapt to current trends of climate change. Currently, he is also conducting research and actively involved in restoration and conservation ecology of coral reefs ecosystems. This is prompted by the fact that corals may need assistance to survive current threats from changing climate and anthropogenic pressure.
