I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia.  In my PhD research, I use remotely sensed data (from satellites) to study fluvial (river) and hydrological (meltwater) processes acting on glacier and ice sheet surfaces. I try to understand what controls the spatial distribution of these processes and how they influence glacier/ice sheet hydrology.  Broadly, I am interested in a wide range of surface processes and the methodologies and technologies we can use to understand them.

Outside of my scientific research, I am interested in the social context of science. I am interested in understanding who gets to participate in the production of scientific knowledge, and how does that influences how we understand the world.
