Professor in Health Informatics, University of Fort Hare

Prof Cilliers is a Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Fort Hare. I graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a BSc Physiotherapy degree, a Master’s in Public Health from the University of the Western Cape as well as a Master’s Degree in Information Systems. I have completed a DPhil (Information Systems) in 2014 and the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (cum laude) in 2016 and a Master’s degree in Education in 2018. In 2016 I was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence award in the category of experienced Teacher, while I received the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence award in the category emerging Researcher in 2015. My research areas include technology in education, e-health, and health in social media. I have published extensively in international and national journals and conferences on these topic areas. I have supervised master students and PHD students as well. I have hosted 2 post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Information Systems.
