Professor of English Literature, Edinburgh Napier University

Linda Dryden is Professor of English Literature at Edinburgh Napier University, where she is the School Director of Research. Her most recent book is Joseph Conrad and H. G. Wells: The Fin de Siecle Literary Scene (Palgrave Macmillan 2015). She has published two further monographs: Joseph Conrad and the Imperial Romance (Palgrave 1999) and The Modern Gothic: Stevenson, Wilde and Wells (Palgrave 2003). She also co-edited Stevenson and Conrad: Writers of Transition (Texas Tech 2009). Linda Dryden is the co-editor of The Journal of Stevenson Studies, created and administers the Robert Louis Stevenson website: www.robert-louis-stevenson.org, and co-founded RLS Day in Edinburgh. Linda established the English Department at Edinburgh Napier University along with the Centre for Literature and Writing (CLAW).
