(she/ her)
Research Program Director, Australian Institute of Marine Science

Line Bay is an evolutionary ecologist whose research is focused on understanding how corals interact with their environment, and their potential to evolve increased tolerance under projected environmental change. Her research combines coral breeding with field and lab based experiments to measure the many ways corals become more tolerant and pass this tolerance to their offspring.

Line leads the Recovery, Adaptation and Restoration Research Program at the Australian Institute of Marine Science and maintains a longstanding commitment to science communication, outreach and education.
