Dementia Clinical Nurse Consultant, CQUniversity Australia

Lisa has been the Director of Nursing and/or Chief Executive Officer at several aged care facilities and small hospitals in Victoria and Queensland. During her role of DON/CEO at one of the Victorian facilities she was responsible for establishing the first Hospital In The Home Program for an Aged Care Facility in Victoria, with close collaboration with the local hospital and regional network, ensuring residents of the facility could remain in their home instead of needing the transfer to hospital for a range of conditions. Lisa has also been an active member on the Panel of Aged Care Administrators and Advisors for the Australian Government, which involved assisting failed aged care facilities to regain their accreditation status to remain open whilst ensuring safety for residents and staff in close collaboration with the federal health minister's office and state Aged Care Accreditation Agency. In addition she has provided consulting regarding aged care and palliative care service issues to the Commonwealth Government of Australia and state government ministers of parliament. Lisa has also presented in China as part of the Australia-China trade missions in 2015 and 2016.
Lisa has worked at 3 Australian Universities across Victoria and Queensland training nurses and developing programs including the creation of the first program in Victoria at the time to allow BN students to register as Enrolled Nurses after their second year of study. She has also been the coordinator of the nursing programs that were run at South West TAFE (Victoria) and assisted in the establishment of programs across 3 campuses. She has also taught in a variety of courses ranging from Certificate III level to Masters levels. She also has numerous publications including book chapters in text books and 2 books she has published with co-authors.Lisa has also published a handbook for people at home caring for someone with dementia.
Lisa has set up Dementia Specific Care Units and an Asian specific nursing home in Australia. Lisa has travelled to Asia many times consulting in aged care and/or dementia as well as presenting at conferences in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Vietnam.
