Lois Lee is Senior Lecturer in Secular Studies at the University of Kent. Her research explores worldviews and existentiality in contemporary societies, focusing on nonreligious populations. Her books include Recognizing the Non-religious: Reimagining the Secular (OUP, 2015), the Oxford Dictionary of Atheism (2016, with Stephen Bullivant), and the co-edited volumes Secularity & Non-religion (Routledge, 2015) and Negotiating Religion: Cross-disciplinary Perspectives (Routledge, 2017).

She founded the Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network (NSRN) and the academic journal, Secularism and Nonreligion (S&N), which she co-edited for several years.

She writes and speaks widely about her research, including for the Conversation, the Guardian, the New Scientist, BBC R4, BBC World Service, LBC, and at Southbank and other festivals.
