Research fellow, Victoria University

I have recently completed my doctorate in economics at the University of Western Australia.

My research interests cover a wide spectrum of economic issues especially in macroeconomics, including economic growth, development economics, international trade and issues in emerging economies, with a focus on China.

For my PhD thesis I have investigated aspects of China's growth prospects, particularly pertaining to China's Hukou system and its impact on migration, growth and inequality, and the middle income trap.

I am currently also very interested in unified growth theory, geography and growth. My current post-doctoral research projects include papers on the dynamics of Malthusian growth and the impact of India's highway networks on district incomes.
