Louise Chawla

I am Professor Emerita in the Program in Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, but I continue to hold a position as a Fellow in the Community Engagement, Design and Research Center, and I remain professionally active. Among my professional commitments, I serve on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Children and Nature Network and on the Executive Committee of Growing Up Boulder, a program that involves children and teens in urban design and planning. I publish widely on the subjects of participatory planning and design with young people, benefits that young people gain from engaging with nature, and the development of active care for the natural world.
