Senior Lecturer in Education, University of Worcester

I have worked with children and young people in various capacities within education for the last eighteen years and have taught in both the primary and post-compulsory sectors. I am currently Senior Lecturer in Education at Staffordshire University where I have been since 2011. I lead and teach on the MA Education programme and undertake research supervision for masters and doctoral students.

I am interested in children’s participatory rights and the extent to which children and young people participate in various aspects of social life. My doctoral research focused on children's participation in child protection interventions and I have also developed a strong interest in the ethics of research with children which has arisen primarily from the ethically sensitive nature of my own doctoral research project and the dilemmas encountered within it.
