I am currently doing my PhD in the Department of English at Wits University. My research is on "Bodies that Suffer: History, Trauma and Responsibility in the work of Sello K. Duiker, Zoë Wicomb and Nkosinathi Sithole". I have an interest in South African Literature and History; Transnational and Postcolonial Literature; Queer Studies; Trauma Studies and Psychoanalysis.

As a Teaching Assistant, I currently teach a course titled "A Place called Home" to third year students. The course looks at Zoë Wicomb's novel, October, and puts it in conversation with Marylinne Robinson and Toni Morrison's novels that are titled 'Home'. I also teach Postcolonial Literature to third year students at Wits Plus.
