Margot Irvine is the Director of the School of Languages and Literatures at the University of Guelph where she teaches in the French and European Studies programs. She is interested in women's access to literary and cultural institutions in France. Her current research deals with the network of women writers who created the Femina literary prize in 1904. She is the author of Pour suivre un époux: les récits de voyage de couples au dix-neuvième siècle français (Nota bene, 2008). With Karin Schwerdtner and Geneviève De Viveiros, she edited Risques et regrets. Les dangers de l’écriture épistolaire (Nota bene, 2015) and with Jeremy Worth, she edited The Unknowable in Literature and Material Culture: Essays in Honour of Clive Thomson (CSP, 2019). With Frédérique Arroyas, she is co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of the journal Nouvelle Revue Synergies Canada.
