Maria Jellinek is a PhD Candidate at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. Her PhD research in international legal philosophy focuses on what moral and legal standards ought to regulate the use of military force aimed at stopping or preventing large-scale humanitarian catastrophes. Prior to her PhD, Maria was a Law Fellow with the Public International Law & Policy Group in Washington D.C. where she was providing legal advice and negotiations support to the Sudanese peace process. She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto and a Master of Advanced Studies from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
