María Pilar Rivera Torres

Pilar Rivera Torres is Professor of Marketing at the University of Zaragoza, and member of the CREVALOR Research Group.

She is a multidisciplinary researcher who is actively pursuing several of lines of research in parallel. She applies the most suitable quantitative multivariate models and management theories to understand managerial and institutional concerns. She is currently working on the implications of business environmental strategies as regards innovativeness and governance, and the drivers and effects of implementing performance measurement and management systems.

Over the last 25 years, she has authored many academic papers, some of which have been published in international journals (indexed in WOS) such as Environmental Management, Environment and Planning A, Strategic Management Journal, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, Journal of Cleaner Production, Management Decision, Supply Chain Management-An International Journal, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Journal of Agricultural & Environmental Ethics, Energy Police, Organization & Environment, Nonprofit Management & Leadership, Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics, Online Information Review, International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations, Sustainability, British Journal of Management, Social Indicators Research, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management.

Since 1998 she has participated in more than 25 competitive projects, as the principal investigator in 4 of them. She has obtained funding for 4 mobility programs (Exeter University, 2004, Pompeu Fabra University, 2011, and Cranfield University (2016 and 2019). She has also been the principal investigator in 10 transfer actions (4 transfer contracts with the Zaragoza Housing, a transfer contract with the Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption, 3 Research Awards from the Family Business Chair and 1 from the Zaragoza Housing Chair). She has been co-investigator in the Performance Management in UK Higher Education Institutions project, funded by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. Furthermore, she has participated in 2 reports on family businesses in Spain, sponsored by the Network of Family Business Chairs and the Studies Service of the Family Business Institute; 1 on the scope of energy poverty in the Autonomous Community of Aragon, promoted and financed by the Government of Aragon and drafted by the Socio-Economic Area of the CIRCE foundation; and the report "Performance Management in UK Higher Education Institutions", funded by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and produced at Cranfield University School of Management.
