Marie-Alice McLean-Dreyfus is one of 20 successful undergraduate recipients of the 2012 round of the Prime Minister's Australia Asia Awards. Marie-Alice is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Australian National University.
In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements, Marie-Alice was awarded ANU’s Basham Prize in 2010. She has also been the recipient of the Confucius Institute Scholarship. In December 2010 until January 2011 Marie-Alice completed a cultural internship in Taiwan, working as a teacher’s assistant in a rural Taiwanese primary school. In 2011, Marie- Alice was selected to participate in the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) Summer School at Peking University in Beijing. In 2012 she participated as one of six Australian delegates at the G20 Youth Summit in Washington and in July of this year completed the ToChina Summer School in Torino Italy, a course on Chinese society, politics and economy.
