Associate Professor in English Language and Linguistics, Kingston University

I am an Associate Professor in English Language and Linguistics at Kingston University and until recently, the Head of Department for Linguistics and Languages. I previously worked at the University of East London, Goldsmiths College (University of London) and Middlesex University. Prior to teaching at HE level, I was the Evening Director at International House Language School, London, where I also taught ELT for many years.

My teaching, research and publication specialisms are mainly in narratology with a focus on personal and trauma narratives and more recently on disnarration in fictional and factual texts; literary and non-literary stylistics; media discourses; and teaching pedagogy.

I conduct research in narratology, including disnarration, and personal and trauma narratives; media stylistics/ media discourses; literary and non-literary stylistics; and pedagogy.
