I have 30 years' experience as a healthcare policy maker and health economist. Originally from the UK, I have worked in the National Health Service, as a consultant for the World Bank in Central Asia, the European Commission and the South African National Department of Health, and as Senior Economic Advisor to the UK Department of Health. Before moving to Deakin, I was a senior executive in the Tasmanian Department of Health. My research focuses on the economics and organisation of sustainable health systems for the future, using insights and principles from ecological economics. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania, where I am completing my PhD.
