Martyn Dade-Robertson

Professor of Emerging Technology, Co-director of the Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment, Newcastle University

I am the Professor of Emerging Technology at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University and the Co-Director of the Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment.

My research investigates a range of new and emerging technologies for Architectural Design including Digital Computation and Synthetic Biology. I have MPhil and PhD degrees in Architecture from Cambridge University and an MSc in Synthetic Biology from Newcastle.

My current projects examine the use of engineered bacteria to create new materials and structures for the built environment and I collaborate with microbiologist, civil engineers and computer scientists.
