Mary A. Shiraef

Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science, University of Notre Dame

Shiraef is a researcher who studies studies processes of migration and identity politicization, with a focus on how collective memory takes shape in authoritarian regimes. In addition to her M.A. from Notre Dame, she holds a Masters of Literature (MLitt) in International Relations from the University of St Andrews. She was a Visiting Student Researcher in the Department of Political Science at Stanford University (2019-2020) and is concurrently a Dean's Fellow at the University of Notre Dame and a Boren Fellow with the U.S. Department of State.
