Senior Lecturer in Environmental Psychology, Universität Wien

I am an environmental psychologist at the University of Vienna with affiliations at the University of Exeter. My research focuses on a) natural environments, human health and wellbeing; and b) pro-environmental behaviour and wellbeing. Since 2011, I have co-ordinated the UK’s ‘Blue Gym’ project exploring the health and wellbeing benefits of marine environments. I am now Work Package/Project lead on three international programmes exploring these issues: ‘BlueHealth’ (H2020), ‘Blue Communities’ (GCRF) and ‘SOPHIE’ (Seas Oceans & Public Health In Europe, H2020).

Publications: I have 90+ publications in leading psychology (e.g. Psychological Science) and environmental science (for example, Global Environmental Change) journals. Our NSF award winning graphic on pharmaceutical pollution was published in Science (2012), and my work on green space has been the focus of a Research Highlight (2014) and Outlook Article (2016) in the journal Nature.
