Senior Researcher in Law, University of Gothenburg

Dr Mathias Klang currently works as a researcher and senior lecturer at the University of Göteborg and the University of Borås. His research revolves within the field of legal informatics and focuses on the ways in which technology regulates us and the ways in which we attempt to control technology.

Within this area he has a particular interest in social media, copyright, democracy, human rights, free expression, censorship, open access and ethics. He has published several articles in these topics.

Among his recent work is a co-edited volume (with Andrew Murray) entitled “Human Rights in the Digital Age”. In addition to this he defended his PhD thesis “Disruptive Technology” in October 2006.

Mathias has been a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, a visiting researcher at the University of Trento and has worked as a legal expert dealing with questions of copyright and Open Access at the University of Lund
