Dr Matteo Grilli specialises in the political history of Ghana and Southern Africa as well as in the history of Italian communities in Africa. He has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Studies Group since 2016. He has recently published articles in History in Africa and the South African Historical Journal and his first monograph, Nkrumaism and African Nationalism, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2018.
