Matthew Facciani

Postdoctoral Researcher, Vanderbilt University

Matthew Facciani is a postdoctoral researcher at Vanderbilt University. Facciani completed his PhD in sociology at the University of South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate education at Westminster College, PA receiving a B.A. in Psychology and received an M.A. in sociology at the University of South Carolina. Facciani studied how self-sentiments and personal networks influence political polarization for his dissertation. Before switching into sociology, Facciani was working on a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, which led to publications in Human Brain Mapping and Quantitative Methods in Psychology. He has also been an instructor at the University of South Carolina where he taught psychological statistics.
