Matt is a postdoctoral fellow in the Centre for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Matt’s primary research interests lie within the sociology of science, technology, and health, particularly in the intersections between morality, meaning-making, and wellbeing, along with the circulation of capital through these promissory spaces. Empirical settings explored focus on those that elucidate normative obligations of biocitizenship today, along with contexts where our escalating precariousness is governed through increasing expectations of individual virtuosity. Matt’s work has been published in outlets such as The European Journal of Social Theory, Science as Culture, the Journal of Sociology, Geographical Research, BioSocieties, Cyborgology, and Configurations. Much of this work, along with other research, can be accessed through mattwade.net.
