I am a scientist working at ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland). My research focuses on greenhouse gas emissions from the natural environment, mostly sub-Saharan Africa.
I received my PhD in natural sciences from ETH Zurich in 2011, focusing on the effect of drought on carbon transfer and allocation in trees using stable isotopes of carbon and oxygen. During my postdoc at Landcare Research in Christchurch, New Zealand I specialized in greenhouse gas fluxes between land and atmosphere using micrometeorological methods.
In 2014 I returned to ETH Zurich as a research technician in the lab of Johan Six leading the Nitrous Oxide Stable Isotope Laboratory at the Sustainable Agroecosystems Group. Besides my general interest in biogeochemical cycles of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems I am mostly invested in measuring greenhouse gas fluxes and their respective isotopic composition. Apart from that I continue to lead and participate in field campaigns and expeditions.
