Maud Borie is an environmental social scientist who has recently completed her PhD in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at the School of Environmental Sciences of the University of East Anglia (UK). In her research, Maud has used STS concepts and methods to follow the development of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), a nascent organization of expert advice that aims at tackling the loss of biodiversity and the degradation of ecosystem services. Prior to her PhD, Maud was trained both as a natural scientist and as a social scientist and completed a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in ‘Sciences and Social Sciences’ at the University Pierre et Marie Curie (in Paris) and at the French Institute of Political Sciences (SciencesPo). In Fall 2013, Maud was a fellow with the Harvard STS Programme.
