Director of Wits Research Institute for Malaria in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand

I am Director of the Malaria Entomology Research Unit and hold a DST/NRF Research Chair in Medical Entomology in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand. I am consultant to the World Health Organization Global Malaria Programme, WHO/TDR Innovative Vector Control, WHO/AFRO, AngloGold/Ashanti Malaria Control Programme in Ghana, and sit on the steering committees of four BMGF projects. I am a member of the Malaria Advisory Group for the South African Department of Health.

My major research interests are mosquito systematics, insecticide resistance in the African malaria vector mosquitoes, host-parasite interactions and novel methods for vector control.
