Melani Ratih Mahanani

PhD Researcher in Epidemiology, Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, Germany, University of Heidelberg

Melani is a PhD researcher working to better understand the patterns, causes and effects of diseases in groups of people. Currently, she is working at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, Germany within the DAAD program 'Research Grants for Doctoral Programmes in Germany'.

Prior to her doctoral research, she worked for Research Group of Disease Control, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret and have participated in several international research projects for more than 5 years. Her expertise includes project design and management, data analysis and interpretation, and the development and implementation of research tools. Having a background in medicine and international health from both developing and developed countries, respectively, she gained multidisciplinary and intercultural experiences and skills. Specific fields of interest include epidemiology, global health, and cancer.
