Melanie Bergmann

My current research focuses on plastic debris and microplastic. I also work on a time series of epibenthic megafauna in the Arctic deep sea to assess the impact of climate change at the HAUSGARTEN observatory. I use a towed camera system to assess changes on the seafloor, in terms of megafauna communities, habitat & the abundance of marine debris. In addition, I use various techniques to sample small and large microplastics including citizen science.
