Dr Melissa Fothergill is a BPS Chartered and HCPC Practitioner Sport and Exercise Psychologist, she is based in the School of Psychology at Newcastle University where she is the Programme Director for the MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Melissa conducts research in areas related to applied sport psychology such as the home advantage, sports officials, emotions and stress responses in athletes with a view to optimising performance. Melissa is also interested in how sport can be used to optimise psychological wellbeing across the lifespan.
