Melissa Hage completed her M.S. and Ph.D. in geology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to joining Oxford College of Emory University, Hage held positions at the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo/Sauk County and Willamette University. Her master’s research focused on modern biogeochemistry in Antarctica and her doctoral research focused on Archean sedimentology and biogeochemistry Since joining Oxford, Hage's research has shifted to limnology and phytoremediation. Her articles have been published in a number of leading journals including Astrobiology, Freshwater Biology, and the Journal of College Science Teaching.
