Lecturer in Government and Politics, University of Leicester

Meryl Kenny is Lecturer in Government and Politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Leicester. Her research focuses on gender and political recruitment, and feminist institutionalism. She is author of Gender and Political Recruitment: Theorizing Institutional Change (Palgrave, 2013), as well as articles published in Politics & Gender, Publius: The Journal of Federalism, International Political Science Review, and Parliamentary Affairs, among others.

She currently co-convenes the UK Political Studies Association's Women and Politics Specialist Group, and is also Co-Director of the Feminism and Institutionalism International Network (FIIN; www.femfiin.com). With Professor Fiona Mackay (Edinburgh) and Dr Elin Bjarnegard (Uppsala), she co-edits a new book series on 'Feminist Institutionalist Perspectives' with Rowman & Littlefield International.
