Mette Hildeman Sjölin

(she/her)
Senior lecturer in English, Lund University

I am a senior lecturer in English with experience of teaching English language, literature and didactics, including literary adaptation, creative writing, multimodalities and translation, at universities in southern Sweden.

My main research expertise is adaptation studies, usually with a gender perspective. I wrote my doctoral dissertation in English literature on stage appropriations of Shakespeare's tragedies. I have recently published a scholarly article on Anne Lister's queer language and its adaptation for a mainstream audience in "Gentleman Jack" and the TV drama "The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister" for a special issue on Lister and "Gentleman Jack" in the Journal of Lesbian Studies, as well as an essay on performances of Lady Macbeth through history for the Royal Shakespeare Company's digital archives.
