Graduated from the University of Cambridge in Electrical Sciences.
PhD also obtained from the University of Cambridge :"Spectral enhancement for the hearing impaired".
Elected Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (2008).
For more years than he cares to remember, he has been involved in academic research to investigate the basic properties of normal and impaired human hearing and applying engineering solutions to remediate hearing impairment. These solutions involve the design of automatic volume controls used in hearing aids and cochlear implants, as well as the development of test signals to assess hearing funciton in the clinic.
