Lecturer in Environmental Sustainability, University of Energy and Natural Resources

Michael is a lecturer in environmental sustainability at the Department of Planning and Sustainability of the School of Geosciences at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Ghana. Michael holds PhD in Science of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Law from Wuhan University, Master of Philosophy in Human Rights Law from the University of Pretoria and BSc Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. His current research concentrates on the complexity of climate risk, how everyday African’s perceive climate change, energy poverty/ access, and food security practices at the interface of climate change, agriculture and smart technologies. Michael's previous research has extended human rights-based approaches to the governance of new climate change risks/ harms. This work has advanced understanding of responses to unanticipated and severe Anthropocene events in Africa.
